| Travel Information

There is now a wide-range of low-fare airlines operating within Europe and, although this has largely been beneficial for the traveller, it can lead to some confusion. We hope this page helps.

Which airport? On the online Booking Form is a short list of airports to choose from. These are the airports most commonly used by our customers and are most likely to have airlines operating flights into Stansted Airport, at a time convenient for the start of the tour.
The list is not exhaustive and if you would prefer to use another airport, enter the name of that airport into the box on the booking form, and we will search for low-fare flights from that airport. |
|
Which airline? Most flights are with Ryanair, easyJet or Air Berlin – the 3 largest and most reputable of Europe's low-fare airlines – however, if you know of or prefer another airline, let us know. |
|
Summer timetables We plan and prepare our tours during the winter months, without sight of the airlines' summer timetables – so it is somewhat inevitable that some flights and flight times may change. |
|
Airport waiting Customers may arrive from different airports, at different times and you might have to wait until all your fellow travellers have arrived before we leave the airport. Clearly, we try to minimise such waiting time and we will provide refreshment, whilst you wait. |

| Bookings – without a flight |
|
Joining the tour Please read the 'Tour specific notes', at the end of the tour itinerary, to see where is best to join the tour – clearly, other meeting places can be arranged, but this must be at the convenience of your fellow travellers. |
| |
| Heathrow and Gatwick airports |
|
| We can not meet customers at either Heathrow or Gatwick airports – unless there are sufficient of you to warrant it. We may though, in certain circumstances only and only on some tours, be able to drop you off at Gatwick airport or Heathrow airport terminals 4 and 5 (though not terminals 1, 2 and 3). |
| |
| The issue of baggage allowances has become far more complex than once it was – and expensive if you get it wrong. There is considerable scope for confusion and we suggest that you check with your airline, shortly before you are due to fly and do not rely on past information, as it may well have changed. |
|
Baggage allowance – weight and dimensions You need to know the weight and size of your baggage, for both your checked-in baggage and your cabin baggage allowance. |
|
Baggage allowance – number of items The number of items that you may check-in now varies considerably between airlines, and you need to know this, too. |
|
Baggage allowance – long haul v. short haul If you are flying 'long haul' into Britain and are then considering flying 'short haul' – either within Britain or further afield – you may encounter particular problems. Please check your allowances on all your potential flights. |
| |
| There is heightened security at airports throughout the world and, within the EU at least, we now have common standards as to what may be carried onboard an aircraft flying within the EU. Our only advice is to check the latest information with the airline and/or the airport authority website and to allow plenty of time to pass though airport security. |

| Holiday Cancellation Insurance |
|
| We recommend that all our customers take out adequate insurance for their holiday, including Holiday Cancellation Insurance. |
| |
| If you are planning to join one of our tours – and you are flying a considerable distance to do so – then please check that the tour has space for you before you book your flights; and check with us, too, that your proposed flight arrival and departure times are compatable with the tour. |
